The Importance of Business Photography

I recently had the most wonderful experience where, I had to opportunity to have a professional photographer take some business photographs of mine.

Let me start from the beginning. With the first lockdown happening in the UK in March I started to realise I need to send more time on engaging better with my customers, viewers and followers digitally. Since this is all anyone sees of any business I wanted to get it right.

At the same time my friend Betty Bhandari, a professional photographer was also thinking out of the box for her own small business and was expanding into doing business photography for entrepreneurs and they workplace. I would definitely say the session was her idea rather than mine :)

The plan began with her and I having a (socially distanced!) wonderful coffee in our local coffee shop. Not only did she have some new insight into my work, my business goals and plans but it was great to have someone from the outside take a deep dive! Sometimes I feel as the owner of the business we see it too up close and personal and forget to take a step back. Sitting down with Betty gave me a new perspective on my own business.

We decided on the things we would focus on during the photography session, as Im a designer, my work process, products, multitasking, packaging etc.

The day arrived and she came to my studio as I’m at the Bath Artists Studio. We broke down the 4 hours we had into focusing on all that we wanted to, with a bit of socially distanced fun! It was a wonderful experience all told and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a small business, a small budget and a in need a of a refresh, to get in touch with Betty as she gave me a fresh outlook and great photographs!! I’m going to be booking her on a 6 month basis for a session so I can keep up to date with my work. Well taken photographs all the difference!
